Emails highlight Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon relationship
In November 2018, as protests erupted over Steve Bannon’s scheduled speech at the Oxford Union, he communicated with Jeffrey Epstein regarding travel arrangements amid the chaos. Bannon informed Epstein of the distractions causing delays and Epstein, responding like a personal assistant, provided flight information, to which Bannon graciously replied, U r an amazing assistant.
This exchange is a part of over 20,000 newly released documents from Epstein’s estate, which included iMessage chats where Bannon’s identity was masked but later confirmed by the BBC through contextual clues.
The emails suggest deeper ties between Bannon and Epstein, beyond the latter being merely a subject for Bannon's documentary project, which reportedly includes around 15 hours of footage. Notably, Epstein referred to Bannon as possibly having the most highly paid travel agent in history, indicating a personal rapport.
Additionally, communications revealed discussions around UK politics, with Bannon discussing his involvement with Brexit figures like Boris Johnson. Epstein suggested that Bannon stay longer in the UK to solidify support amidst political shifts.
Bannon, who served as a key advisor to Donald Trump until 2017, has not been accused of any illegal activity and did not comment to the BBC regarding the correspondence. However, these revelations have renewed scrutiny over Epstein's connections with influential individuals, especially as Congress moves to release more files related to Epstein's prior investigations.
