The latest polls from the Pew Research Center reflect a growing discontent among Hispanic voters regarding President Donald Trump’s management of key issues such as immigration and the economy.
According to the surveys, conducted in September and October, about two-thirds of Hispanic adults disapprove of Trump's immigration policies, and 61% believe his economic strategies have worsened their circumstances. This comes despite a notable shift in support during the 2024 election, where up to 43% of Hispanic voters backed Trump, an increase from 35% in 2020.
However, even among those who previously supported him, approval ratings have decreased significantly—from 93% at the beginning of his second term to 81% now. In contrast, nearly all Hispanic voters who supported his opponent, Kamala Harris, expressed disapproval of Trump's job performance.
Researchers indicated that perceptions of Hispanic adults' situations in the U.S. have soured over the past year. Data shows that around 66% of these citizens feel that conditions for their community have deteriorated, with heightened fears regarding deportation affecting personal lives.
These findings reveal a broader trend of dissatisfaction among Hispanic communities, indicating increasing anxiety around Trump's hard-line immigration policies and overall economic standing. The landscape for Hispanic voters is uncertain, with historical comparisons drawing attention to the growing disconnect between Trump's policies and Hispanic voter sentiment.
