In brief

Danish police reopened the investigation at Copenhagen Airport after receiving a new email threat aimed at two aircraft. They found no suspicious material on the planes and confirmed passengers were not in danger, but the case is still being monitored for possible links to similar threats across Europe.

On Friday, Danish police returned to Copenhagen Airport to investigate a new threat after the airline’s command centre received an email that allegedly targeted two aircraft. The threat was sent directly to the airport’s security team, according to the Danish broadcaster TV 2, and warned that the planes posed a danger to passengers.

Police and military bomb‑disposal specialists swept the two aircraft that were scheduled to depart that morning and reported that no suspicious material was found on either plane. Copenhagen police said in a statement that the initial assessment was that passengers and other people at the airport had not been in danger.

Police told TV 2 that Friday’s report “appeared to concern a new incident” and that the agency was still gathering information. The investigation is being kept on standby while authorities compare the message with similar threats that have been sent across Europe. Copenhagen police said it was too early to confirm whether the new threat is linked to those incidents.
