US President Donald Trump has threatened to sue comedian Trevor Noah after he joked about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein at the Grammy Awards.

Hosting the event, Noah said: Song of the Year - that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein's island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.

Trump is known to have been an associate of Epstein for years, but claims to have had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes and states they fell out around 2004. He has not been accused of any wrongdoing by Epstein's victims, and the US justice department has stated allegations against him are unfounded.

Responding to Noah's joke, Trump stated that he would be sending my lawyers to sue and took to Truth Social to defend himself, claiming Noah's statement was incorrect. Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, Trump wrote.

Trump asserted he has never visited Epstein's island and emphasized that until Noah's comments, he had never faced accusations about being there, not even by the media.

Epstein, who was found dead in 2019 while in custody on sex trafficking charges, had purchased his island in 1998, which multiple survivors allege was a site of abuse.

Trump has previously engaged in legal actions against various media organizations, including a significant lawsuit against the BBC last year for defamation. Noah, a South African-born comedian, hosted The Daily Show for seven years before the Grammy event.
