TUCSON, Ariz. (RTW News) — In the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, frustrations mount as sheriff's officials reveal that a doorbell camera at her home failed to capture any images on the day she went missing.

According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, the camera was found inactive after it had been disconnected, and due to a lack of subscription, the footage remains unrecoverable. “It is concerning, it’s actually almost disappointing because you’ve got your hopes up,” Nanos stated in a press briefing. The investigation, now in its sixth day, has not led to any suspects or persons of interest.

Authorities believe 84-year-old Nancy was taken against her will from her home near Tucson over the weekend. Preliminary DNA tests confirmed that blood found on her porch matched Nancy’s, intensifying the urgency of the search. Growing concerns about her condition have surfaced as she is known to need daily medication due to health issues including high blood pressure and a pacemaker.

Nanos emphasized the challenges of the case, implying that not all information could be shared with the public or the media to maintain investigative integrity. Meanwhile, the family is making desperate pleas for information, as Savannah and her siblings express their readiness to engage with the kidnapper to ensure their mother’s safety.

Involvement from federal authorities, including the FBI, has been confirmed as they investigate ransom notes received by some media outlets, which are taken seriously but have yet to unveil new leads. Authorities urge anyone with information to step forward with tips about Nancy's case.
