Kanye West has delayed his concert in Marseille indefinitely, following a week of turmoil surrounding his performances in Europe.

American rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, has announced that he is postponing his upcoming concert in Marseille, France, 'until further notice.' This decision comes in the wake of the cancellation of the Wireless Festival, where West was supposed to headline, after the UK government barred his entry due to past controversial statements. French authorities are reportedly considering similar measures to prevent his performance in France.

This decision follows the cancellation of this summer's Wireless Festival, where West had been scheduled to headline. The UK government prohibited him from entering the country, citing concerns over his past controversial remarks.

Reports from French media indicate that the country's Interior Minister, Laurent Nunez, was also looking to ban the concert set for June 11, emphasizing his determination to prevent the event due to West's inflammatory statements.

For the past few years, West has faced backlash for a series of antisemitic, racist, and pro-Nazi comments. In a post on social media platform X, West expressed deep consideration for his decision, stating, After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice. He continued with, I take full responsibility for what's mine but I don't want to put my fans in the middle of it. My fans are everything to me. Looking forward to the next shows.

West was expected to perform in multiple European cities in the coming months, including Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, alongside a scheduled gig in New Delhi, India.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his performances, West's official website still listed upcoming concerts throughout May, June, and July.

While the Dutch asylum and migration minister indicated no intention to bar him from performing in the Netherlands, Nunez's office in France was exploring every possibility to prevent West's show, though further details were not disclosed.

Last week, the UK Home Office stated that West was denied entry due to the public good implications of allowing him into the country.

In light of his past actions, including making derogatory remarks and issuing an apology for them, West has sought to repair his image, asserting that he is not a Nazi or antisemitic and attributing his past behavior to his battle with bipolar disorder.
