INDIANAPOLIS (RTW News) — An Indiana politician, Ron Gibson, reported that he and his young son were jolted awake by gunfire that struck their front door early Monday morning. The shooter fired 13 rounds, leaving behind a note stating, 'No Data Centers' in a clear protest against ongoing development plans in their neighborhood.
Fortunately, neither Gibson, a councilman in Indianapolis, nor his 8-year-old son were harmed during the incident, which struck frighteningly close to where the boy had been playing with Legos just the day before. This reality is deeply unsettling, Gibson remarked, highlighting that the assault was not only an attack on his home but also endangered his child and compromised the entire neighborhood's safety.
The incident, which took place around 12:45 a.m., was later investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
