Police in Helmand province dismantled four drug-processing laboratories in Kajaki, Nawzad, and Musa Qala districts on Monday, according to a statement from the provincial Directorate of Information and Culture. The operation seized a large quantity of drug production materials.
The statement did not specify whether any arrests were made during the operations.
A report from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime indicates that Afghanistan’s drug ban appears to have weakened in 2026, but that source has not been independently verified.
