In a Reuters‑style release Tuesday, Myanmar’s Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) announced that the country attracted more than $433 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) from April to September 2026, the first half of the 2026‑27 fiscal year.
According to the DICA, the real‑estate sector was the top recipient of FDI, drawing $245 million. The transport and communication sector followed, bringing in over $131 million, while the manufacturing sector received more than $29 million.
The report noted that China and Singapore were the largest investors in Myanmar during the period, the leading sources of the $433 million inflow.
These figures represent the first official confirmation of the scale of FDI flowing into Myanmar in the current fiscal year, as reported by the government’s investment administration body.
