At the World Travel Market in London, the Maldives rolled out its new global tourism campaign, "Visit Maldives Year 2027 – Celebrate the Sunny Side," aiming to accelerate tourism growth and strengthen its position in the global market.

The initiative was announced by Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen, who explained that the campaign would promote Maldivian identity, heritage and hospitality while supporting local businesses and creating inclusive economic opportunities.

"Linking the country's luxury resort sector with local island communities and attracting more visitors from both established and emerging markets," said Ameen, emphasizing the campaign’s focus on community participation in the tourism industry.

Visit Maldives Corporation CEO and Managing Director Abdulla Yasir added that the multi‑year plan would include international roadshows, cultural showcases and targeted marketing campaigns.
