Al‑Ahsa Technical College, together with UNESCO’s Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, hosted an event on November 5, 2026, to mark World Quality Week. The lecturer was UNESCO RCQE Director General Dr. Abdulrahman Al‑Mudaires, who addressed quality excellence, adaptive leadership, and the role of digital tools in training institutions.
The event centered on three pillars: leadership, governance, and digital transformation. Dr. Al‑Mudaires spoke about the foundations of governance, stressing responsibilities, procedures, implementation mechanisms and oversight, and explained how digital transformation supplies the data and tools to support these governance processes.
He highlighted that digital and traditional training differ, and that integrating leadership, governance, and digital transformation creates a strategic advantage for training institutions. The goal of the session was to promote continuous improvement as a core institutional practice, enabling sustainable excellence.
The theme of this year’s global observance was “Quality: Powering Performance.” Mishary Al-Qahtani, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training in the Eastern Region, noted the theme underscored the importance of improving work standards and pursuing development and innovation. He emphasized that quality is an ethical commitment and a value that should be embedded in all aspects of institutional practice.
Al‑Qahtani added that the observance offers an opportunity to strengthen a culture of proficiency and excellence across all activities, moving beyond the review of standards and regulations.
Attendance included several officials and faculty members, all celebrating the opportunity to reinforce a culture of continuous quality improvement.
