Afghan police in Nimroz province foiled a human‑trafficking attempt and rescued 57 people on Saturday, the provincial police spokesman Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat said. The trafficking ring had tried to move the victims out of the country via Nimroz, but police identified and thwarted the plan, freeing the captives and seizing five transport vehicles.
Qudrat also noted that police had previously rescued 127 individuals from suspected traffickers in Nimroz on Wednesday. He did not say whether any of the suspected traffickers had been arrested, leaving that detail unconfirmed.
