Three people have been arrested in connection with a suspected foiled bomb attack on the Bank of America's headquarters in Paris, France's anti-terrorism prosecutor's office announced. An initial suspect was detained at the scene after he placed a device containing five litres of liquid, believed to be fuel, and an ignition system close to the bank, according to a police source.

On Sunday, French security services confirmed that two more individuals were apprehended following the incident, which occurred at approximately 03:30 local time (01:30 GMT) on Saturday in the city's 8th arrondissement, just a few streets from the famous Champs-Élysées.

France's Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez indicated that the attempted attack might be linked to the ongoing US-Israel conflict involving Iran, noting, In this type of conflict, you have a number of Iranian services that are likely to carry out actions such as these through proxies.

Nuñez emphasized the importance of the investigation to ascertain the suspects' ties and motives. The Iranian embassy in France has not commented on these claims.

The initial suspect, accompanied by a second individual who fled the scene while reportedly filming the situation, was apprehended by police. The custody of the first suspect, who is a minor, had been extended for further questioning.
Under French law, individuals held in terrorism investigations can be detained for up to 96 hours, with the possibility of a court extension. Similar attempted attacks have been thwarted in other European nations, including the Netherlands, Britain, and Norway, prompting increased vigilance and security measures nationwide.
