Donald Trump was greeted with thunderous applause as he celebrated his election victory at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 309 held at Madison Square Garden in New York. Accompanied by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and key cabinet nominees, Trump relished the electrifying atmosphere.
Entering the venue accompanied by upbeat music, Trump's presence immediately captivated the crowd. He was seen enjoying the evening nestled between UFC President Dana White and Tesla CEO Musk. Notably, figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, both nominated for key positions in Trump's impending administration, joined the spirited gathering alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, who is poised to direct the “Department of Government Efficiency” in partnership with Musk.
The former president extended enthusiastic greetings to renowned UFC announcer and podcaster Joe Rogan, who previously endorsed him during an appearance on Rogan's show. Trump's entrance was met with exuberant chants of "USA" from fans as he strolled to the octagon. The crowd erupted in joy as the UFC showcased a video commemorating his election triumph over Kamala Harris, prompting Trump to dance and soak in the applause.
Jon Jones, the current heavyweight UFC champion, also took the time to acknowledge Trump during the event, presenting him with his title as a gesture of gratitude. "I want to say a big thank you to President Donald Trump for being here tonight," stated Jones, captivating the audience further.
Trump's connection to the UFC is long-standing, having attended numerous events throughout his political career. Although he usually receives a warm reception from the audience, he faced some boos at a 2019 event towards the conclusion of his initial term. Yet, support from figures like Dana White remains robust; White notably addressed the Republican National Convention, praising Trump as "the toughest, most resilient human being I have ever met in my entire life."
