Australian breaker Rachael Gunn's legal team has successfully blocked the launch of 'Raygun: The Musical,' which was intended to explore her experience leading to the Paris Olympics and was created by comedian Steph Broadbridge.

Raygun: The Musical, a comedic retelling of Rachael Gunn's Olympic journey, has been canceled after legal actions from the Olympian's team halted its debut performance slated for Kinselas in Darlinghurst, Sydney. The show's creator and star, Steph Broadbridge, faced a cease and desist letter claiming Gunn owned certain dance moves featured in the production. The kangaroo dance and other viral moves associated with Gunn became a focal point of the legal dispute.

In an official statement, Gunn's legal representatives emphasized their commitment to protecting her intellectual property and maintaining the integrity of her brand. They explicitly warned Broadbridge that she could not perform the kangaroo dance, asserting Gunn's ownership of it.

A puzzled Broadbridge took to Instagram to share her confusion over the ban, questioning how she could possibly replicate the Olympic-level dance without formal training. Nonetheless, she remained hopeful for a future comeback, indicating plans to reframe the narrative of the show and offering ticket refunds to those affected by its cancellation.

Despite the legal standoff, Gunn's performance at the Olympics received mixed feedback, with critics divided over her contribution to the breaking scene. Although she initially aimed to continue competing post-Olympics, Gunn later revealed her decision to retire due to the ongoing backlash.

In light of the controversy, she stated her intent to rename her character to "Raygun with an I," aiming to alleviate some of the concerns raised by her legal team.
