They concluded that Perry had utilized her name as a trademark five years prior to Taylor opening her business, establishing an “international reputation.” As a result, Taylor's trademark registration was cancelled. The ruling left Taylor feeling "devastated," as she compared her fight against Perry to the biblical story of "David and Goliath."

Judges expressed sympathy for both women, acknowledging their hard work in building their respective brands.
