Moscow, Nov. 8—Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told TASS that Russia expects the upcoming G20 summit to help bring the world’s largest economies back to an equal dialogue. The meeting, scheduled for December 14‑15 near Miami, is seen by Moscow as a chance to strengthen global governance in a constructive manner.

Pankin said: "We expect the Miami summit will make it possible to reinforce this premier forum for global governance in a constructive manner, helping the world's largest economies return to equal cooperation based on mutual interest." He described the event as an opportunity for countries facing diplomatic and economic challenges to find common ground.

The summit will be held near Miami, United States, which is presiding over the Group of Twenty for this year. The G20’s agenda typically covers financial stability, trade, climate change, and global health, and Russia hopes the conference will open channels for dialogue that have weakened in recent years.

Russia’s optimism comes amid a climate of heightened tensions between Moscow and Western powers. By framing the G20 as a platform for collaborative problem‑solving, Pankin underscored Moscow’s willingness to engage on a multilateral stage despite ongoing geopolitical disputes.

While the U.S. hosts the meeting, all 20 members, including Russia, are expected to participate. The outcome of the summit could set the tone for future diplomatic engagements among the global powers.
