At a White House ceremony on November 5, Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev told reporters that Moscow’s leader had personally given instructions for a humanitarian ceasefire mission in the Ukrainian border village of Alyoshki.
Dmitriev, speaking after the announcement, said President Vladimir Putin had ordered the mission to "ensure the successful implementation of the local ceasefire in Alyoshki". The envoy added that Ukrainian forces had obeyed the truce, allowing a diplomatic effort to bring relief supplies into the besieged area.
Kirill Dmitriev said:
"President Putin personally gave all of the necessary instructions to ensure the successful implementation of the local ceasefire in Alyoshki. Ukrainian side abided by ceasefire, and this humanitarian mission shows what can be achieved when compassion, determination, and cooperation come together."
The event, attended by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump and Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova, highlighted the joint commitment of local authorities to the ceasefire. Dmitriev attributed the mission’s success to "compassion, determination and cooperation" from both sides.
Alushki, a small settlement about 80 km from the front lines, had been cut off for weeks, with residents facing shortages of food and medical supplies. The ceasefire allowed aid convoys to pass safely through the village, according to Dmitriev. The successful mission, lasting three nights, involved coordination between Russian and Ukrainian military commanders.
At this time the TASS report confirms the envoy’s statements, but no independent verification from other outlets has been reported yet. Future updates will be provided as more details become available.
