At least 30 people have been injured following a Russian drone strike on a railway station in north-east Ukraine, as reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In a post on X, he revealed that preliminary reports indicated train staff and passengers were present at the site of the strike in the city of Shostka, located in the Sumy region.
Emergency services have already arrived at the scene and started assisting those affected. The full extent of the injuries is still being assessed.
President Zelensky also shared a video, showcasing a damaged train carriage engulfed in flames.
He stated, The Russians could not have been unaware that they were targeting civilians. This is terrorism, which the world has no right to ignore. He further emphasized, Every day Russia takes people's lives. And only strength can make them stop.
In his message, he urged the West to take action, noting that, We've heard resolute statements from Europe and America – and it's high time to turn them all into reality.
