Vice‑President JD Vance announced the birth of his fourth child, a boy named Alec Neel, and shared that both his wife Usha and the infant are happy and healthy.


The newborn arrived Sunday morning, and the Vance family expressed gratitude toward the medical staff at Walter Reed Medical Center.


Alec is not the first child born to a serving Vice‑President in living American history, a fact noted by the Associated Press.


The Vances already have three children: Ewan, 9, Vivek, 6, and Mirabel, 4.


Usha Vance, born in San Diego, came from a family with engineering and biology roots and first met JD at Yale Law School.


The family’s recent activities include visits to India and supporting military families in Washington, Washington.


In his book, Vance recounts that after the death of colleague Charlie Kirk a short time later Usha became pregnant, marking a new chapter for their family.
