Authorities in Spain confirmed that a 63‑year‑old British man was killed in a paragliding accident in the Palau de Noguera area, close to Tremp, on Wednesday afternoon at 13:30 local time (14:30 BST).

Emergency services received a report of the incident and found the man severely injured. He was treated with first aid by local rescuers before medical teams arrived, but he later died on the scene.

The Royal Spanish Civil Guard and the Catalan police, Mossos d'Esquadra, reported that three fire‑brigades and two medical teams were deployed. Five citizen‑security units also assisted in the investigation.

Local media said the paraglider may have become entangled in power lines before crashing, though the official cause remains unconfirmed.

The UK Foreign Office announced it was supporting the family of the victim and that information would be relayed through British consular channels. The incident highlights the risks involved in paragliding and the importance of prompt emergency response in remote mountain locations.
