Former Migos rapper Offset has been shot outside a casino in Florida, according to US media reports.

The 34-year-old, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is in a stable condition and being closely monitored in hospital, a spokesperson told Variety.

The Seminole Police Department have informed BBC Newsbeat that the incident occurred on Monday evening, leading to the detention of two individuals in connection with the shooting.

Police indicated that the shooting took place at a valet area after 19:00 on Monday, outside of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, resulting in non-life threatening injuries to the individual involved.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Offset is widely recognized for his role in the hip-hop trio Migos, alongside Quavo and Takeoff. He married Cardi B in 2017, and they have three children together. The couple later separated and filed for divorce in 2024.

The Grammy-nominated group Migos achieved fame with their viral hit Versace in 2013 and garnered further acclaim with their chart-topping song Bad and Boujee in 2017. Migos is celebrated as one of the most influential hip-hop groups of their generation.

In early 2022, the group faced a split, with Offset pursuing a solo career and Quavo and Takeoff forming their duo, Unc & Phew. Tragically, Takeoff was shot dead in November 2022 at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas.
