In brief
All three public hospitals in northern Gaza are now non-functional due to ongoing Israeli military actions, according to the Hamas-led health ministry.
In a dire update, the health ministry of Hamas has announced that all public hospitals in northern Gaza have ceased operations amid Israel's intensified military campaign. The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, the last remaining facility still functioning, has been besieged by Israeli forces, who have been reported to be heavily firing on the area, thereby obstructing access for medical staff, patients, and essential supplies.Israel’s military has recently launched "Operation Gideon's Chariot", marking one of the most lethal periods of conflict in Gaza over recent months. In parallel developments, Hamas has expressed a willingness to negotiate, offering to release nine hostages in exchange for a two-month truce along with the release of Palestinian prisoners, as confirmed by a Palestinian official in talks on Saturday. The health ministry highlighted the catastrophic impact of the assaults, stating: “After the destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital, and with the Indonesian Hospital now out of service, all public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are now out of service.” The situation in the region remains critical as hostilities continue, severely limiting access to essential medical care for the population.
