Five more suspects have been arrested over their involvement in the Louvre heist, Paris' public prosecutor has said.
They were arrested on Wednesday night in the Paris region, Laure Beccuau's office stated.
A main suspect was among those taken into custody, AFP reported. The new arrests follow two men who recently 'partially recognised' their involvement in the brazen theft.
Items worth €88 million (£76 million; $102 million) were taken from the world's most-visited museum on 19 October, when four thieves broke into the building in broad daylight.
The jewels have yet to be recovered, Beccuau revealed in a statement to RTL. She noted that DNA from one of those arrested could potentially link them to the crime scene.
While investigators are yet to provide many further details, the new suspects can be detained for up to four days before facing charges or release. Authorities suspect that the gang involved in the heist could be larger than the four individuals captured on CCTV.
