Family Survives 16‑Hour Jet Ski Capsizing Off Koh Samui, Thailand
A 50‑year‑old father and his two sons were rescued after being found adrift off the coast of Koh Samui, a Thai island, following a jet ski capsizing.
Local government official Amorn Chomchoey said the family had spent more than 16 hours floating in the sea, drinking seawater and appearing exhausted.
Chomchoey added that the boys were pale and the family had swallowed a lot of water while waiting for rescue.
Once rescued, the family was taken to a local hospital and was discharged shortly thereafter.
Officials say the incident underlines the importance of safety gear and vigilance when engaging in water sports in open waters.
