In brief

In Game 4, the Samsung Lions beat the KT Wiz 10‑5, taking a 3‑1 series lead. 19‑year‑old starter Jang Chan‑hee pitched four innings, surrendering only a single run. Manager Park Jin‑man warned the team not to relax.

In Saturday’s Korean Series Game 4 at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, the Samsung Lions defeated the KT Wiz 10‑5 to push their series lead to 3‑1.

The win was anchored by 19‑year‑old starter Jang Chan‑hee, who went four solid innings and allowed just one run on two hits. Jang, the second youngest Korean Series starter, experienced a rocky first inning, yielding a solo home run to Jang Jin‑hyuk on his ninth pitch and walking the next batter before escaping without further damage.

After the Lions jumped to a 6‑1 advantage, Jang settled in. He recorded three quick outs in the second inning, went 3‑up 3‑down in the third, and finished the frame with three strikeouts and a 1–2–3 delivery.

The bullpen was repeatedly called upon after Jang was lifted in the fifth. Satoshi Miyamori began the frame with a bases‑loaded single and two walks, Bae Chan‑seung followed, and finally Lee Jae‑hee closed the inning, striking out Kim Sang‑su and retiring Heo Kyoung‑min on high‑fastballs. Lee, 25, then worked two perfect innings with three strikeouts.

Park Jin‑man, the Lions’ manager, said the team must stay attentive.

“We are getting close but in the postseason, one game can be a turning point and then you never know what can happen after that,”

Park added, “We are not going to let our guard down. We will do our best to finish the series tomorrow.”

Park also highlighted the contributions of breakout player Park Seung‑kyu, who went 3‑for‑4 with three RBI, and reliever Lee Jae‑hee as the game’s decisive pitcher.

The Lions aim to cap the series with a victory in Game 5, scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Daegu.
