In brief
Lebanon’s Health Ministry announced on October 31 that 8,956 people have died and 30,664 have been injured since the start of Israeli aggression in October 2023. Between March 2 and October 30, 2026, 4,389 were killed and 12,428 wounded. A framework agreement signed last month under U.S. mediation is viewed as lacking a clear legal basis and a timetable for Israeli forces to withdraw.
In a statement released on Thursday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that 8,956 people have been killed and 30,664 injured since Israeli guns opened fire on the country in October 2023. The ministry added that between March 2 and October 30, 2026, 4,389 people were killed and 12,428 other civilians injured.
The figures come as the ministry cites continuous targeting by Israeli forces that have remained in southern Lebanon. The ministry also noted that the Israeli regime launched a large‑scale offensive on March 2, displacing more than one million Lebanese residents.
Last month, the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime signed a framework agreement under U.S. mediation. The deal is intended to end the war between the regime and Hezbollah but has attracted criticism for its unclear legal standing and for lacking a clear timetable that would see Israeli forces leave Lebanon.
Health officials continue to report casualties as conflict flares in southern border towns, while international observers monitor the situation for a broader political resolution.
