On November 6, 2026, the Saudi Press Agency announced that the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) will launch three new projects at the sixth Hajj Conference and Exhibition, which opens in Jeddah on November 8.
The academy will showcase a pilgrimage‑specific language assessment test, a textbook titled Arabic for Hajj and Umrah that forms part of its Arabic for Specific Purposes series, and an updated Hajj and Umrah terminology dictionary.
Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the dictionary contains 488 Arabic entries with translations to English, French, Persian, Turkish, Malay and Urdu, bringing the total to more than 3,400 entries across the six languages.
The projects are designed to improve communication for pilgrims and the service providers who assist them, according to the agency’s report.
KSGAAL says that the assessment test will gauge pilgrims’ readiness for language demands encountered during the pilgrimage. The textbook aims to develop practical communication skills for attendees, while the dictionary serves as a reference for multilingual staff.
The six‑day conference will highlight KSGAAL’s pavilion, offering stakeholders opportunities to test the new materials and explore collaboration with the academy’s partners. The launch reflects the academy’s ongoing effort to support international pilgrims through specialized Arabic resources.
