Patrols from the Ministry of Interior’s Agency for Security Regiments Affairs in the Jazan region arrested a Saudi citizen for transporting two individuals who had violated the Border Security Law, according to a statement released on 5 November 2026. The vehicle, in which the citizen was driving, was seized by the patrols and the incident was logged as a major offense.

Legal procedures have been initiated against all parties. The two violators were referred to the appropriate authorities for further action, while the transporter has been handed over to the Public Prosecution for prosecution under national security laws.

"Facilitating the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, transporting or sheltering them, or providing them with any form of assistance carries penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR 1 million," the agency warned, adding that failed transport is punishable by vehicle confiscation and public naming.

In addition to the individual penalties, the incident highlights the agency’s stance that major offenses related to border security carry significant legal consequences. Confiscation of the vehicle used for transportation and public naming of the transporter constitute part of the enforcement strategy.

Officials urged citizens to report violations of residency, labor, and border security regulations. Calls to 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern region, or to 999 and 996 in other regions, will be treated with strict confidentiality; reporters will be protected from liability.

As the legal process continues, authorities remain on alert to prevent future breaches and to enforce the stringent penalties outlined for assisting border security violators.
