In brief
On Saturday, November 7 – the U.S. framework deal was still in force – Israeli troops executed a demolition operation in Bani Hayyan and shelled the outskirts of Wadi al-Hujair and other southern Lebanese districts. Lebanese health officials report over 4,300 deaths and more than 12,400 injuries since March 2. While the attacks are confirmed by Lebanese state media, the precise extent and impact of the strikes remain unverified.
On Saturday, November 7, Israeli forces reported carrying out a demolition operation in Bani Hayyan, a village in southern Lebanon, and launching artillery shelling on the outskirts of Wadi al-Hujair, according to Lebanon’s state‑run National News Agency (NNA).
In addition, the army carried out search operations in Khiam, in Marjayoun district, and subjected Baraachit in Bint Jbeil district and Wadi Zibqin to intermittent artillery fire overnight. Indonesian military officials noted the Israeli artillery targeted the al‑Arayesh area between Haris and Hadatha in Bint Jbeil district on Friday evening. Heavy machine‑gun fire was also reported toward the outskirts of Mansouri and Bayut al‑Sayyad, south of Tyre, alongside targeted artillery shelling.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry says Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed 4,390 people and wounded 12,429 others as of November 5. The numbers are cited as confirmed figures deriving from the ministry’s records but remain unverified by independent observers.
The U.S.-brokered framework deal signed in June envisages a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territory, in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and its assumption of security responsibilities there. The continuing attacks indicate the fragile state of security on the southern Lebanon front.
