A Chinese film festival opened in New Delhi on Friday, Oct. 31, marked by the first such event in more than a decade. The festival, staged at the Films Division Auditorium, was jointly hosted by the Chinese embassy, the Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF) and the National School of Drama.
The two‑day program, themed Two Nations, One Screen, screened around ten Chinese films and drew a diverse audience of Indians from the arts, cinema, culture, academia and cinema lovers, officials said.
The DIFF President Ram Kishore Parcha told the opening ceremony that the festival is expected to build a new bridge encompassing cinema, culture, traditions and bilateral relations.
"It will unlock fresh avenues for co‑productions and artistic exchange between filmmakers from both nations," Parcha said.
