In brief

According to the BTA, Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission announced that vote‑taking closed at 9 p.m. Sunday, citing a 19.33% turnout—up from 15.95% in the first round. The commission said final results will be released within three days and published in the State Gazette no later than a week thereafter. The announcement came from Chair Georgi Horozov during a live‑streamed meeting and was followed by briefing details from spokesperson Stoyanka Balova. The full election outcome remains pending.

On Sunday, Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission announced that the presidential and vice‑presidential polling had ended at 9:00 p.m., according to the BTA.

In a live‑streamed online meeting, Chair Georgi Horozov confirmed the closure while CEC spokesperson Stoyanka Balova reported that 1,282,848 voters had cast ballots by 4 p.m., marking a 19.33 % turnout nationwide and abroad—an increase of nearly 3.5 percentage points from the 15.95 % seen in the first round.

Balova had outlined the post‑poll timetable, saying the final results of the presidential and vice‑presidential elections would be announced within three days of election day and published in the State Gazette no later than seven days afterward.

In a briefing earlier that day, Balova stated:

“The final results of the presidential and vice‑presidential elections will be announced by the CEC within three days of election day and will be published in the State Gazette no later than seven days afterwards.”

The announcement offered no details on how the individual candidates performed; the final votes are still pending release from the commission.
