Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2026, Afghan police in Nimroz province seized a suspected human‑trafficking ring and rescued 127 people trying to cross the border illegally, police spokesperson Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat said, according to Xinhua.
Police also seized five vehicles that had been used to transport the individuals and warned that no one would be allowed to slip across the border illegally, adding that strict action would be taken against traffickers. The same province last week saw a similar operation that stopped an attempt to traffic 89 people, with three suspected traffickers arrested.
Many Afghans continue to leave the country illegally in search of employment abroad amid poverty and unemployment in the war‑torn nation, the report noted.
