Two US Troops Killed, One Missing After Iranian Attack in Jordan

Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched from Iranian territory struck over Jordan, killing two U.S. service members and leaving a third body still missing, U.S. Central Command (Centcom) announced on Friday.

The U.S. military reported four service members were medicalised to Jordanian hospitals. All have since been discharged; only two were fatal. The third remains classified as missing.

Jordan’s armed forces confirmed interception of ten ballistic missiles that crossed into its airspace overnight, reporting no damage to its infrastructure.

The attack follows the latest U.S. airstrikes on Iranian forces, part of a seventh consecutive night of strikes since the U.S. declared the ceasefire agreement with Iran “over”. The fatality count for U.S. service members in the Iran conflict now stands at 14, including a Navy pilot declared dead earlier this month.

The incident underscores the heightened tension between the U.S. and Iran and highlights the strategic significance of Jordan’s location in the Middle East.
