HELENA ISLAND, S.C. — On Sunday, October 12, 2025, authorities confirmed that four individuals were killed and at least 20 others injured in a mass shooting at Willie’s Bar and Grill, a popular venue on St. Helena Island. Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as gunfire erupted amidst a crowd of attendees celebrating a high school alumni event.

The victims have been identified as Kashawn Glaze, 22; Chiraad Smalls, 33; Amos Gary, 54; and A’shan’tek Milledge, 22. In the wake of the tragedy, memorials of flowers and candles have appeared outside the bar, indicating the community’s grief and support for the victims' families.
