The United States Navy’s aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has been on continuous deployment in the Middle East for roughly 250 days, exceeding the originally planned return in May.
Observations from satellite imagery show the warship’s latest port visit was in December of last year, with no subsequent docking or refueling stops reported.
Reports from crew members indicate deteriorating living conditions on board, raising concerns among naval officials and the public about extended deployments and crew welfare.
The ship’s activity will soon be resumed towards home waters as diplomatic negotiations over the U.S.–Iran war progress; the Navy has announced that the vessel should be able to sail back shortly.
