Norway’s capital Oslo hosted a solemn funeral for King Harald V, who reigned for 35 years. The ceremony was followed by a private burial in the Palace Chapel at Akershus Fortress, with flags flown from half‑mast. Tens of thousands, including the Prince of Wales and other European royals, paid respects. King Harald’s son, Crown Prince Haakon VIII, waved from the Royal Palace balcony and will succeed him.
