LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michele Singer Reiner, a photographer and producer who inspired the happy ending in the iconic romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally...,” has died at the age of 68. She was found dead in her Brentwood home along with her husband, renowned director Rob Reiner, 78, on Sunday. Their son, Nick Reiner, is currently being held by authorities in connection to their deaths.
Michele's influence on the film industry was profound; while working as a producer, she played a crucial role in classics including 'Spinal Tap II: The End Continues' and 'God & Country.' Her connection with the film 'When Harry Met Sally...' began when Rob Reiner altered the movie's ending to reflect their own relationship. He shared his inspiration with The Guardian in 2018, stating, 'I see how this works.'
The couple married in 1989 and had three children together: Nick, Jake, and Romy. They were known for their strong bond, which they showcased openly during promotions and public appearances.
