A 25‑year‑old UK-Iranian dual national arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts connected to RAF Fairford has been released on bail.

The suspect was taken into custody in Westminster on Thursday after police received reports of suspicious vehicles near the Gloucestershire airbase last weekend, leading to a major incident declaration and evacuation of dozens of homes.

Investigators completed searches of two properties in Westminster following the arrest. Five other men in their twenties, all UK nationals from London, were also detained and later granted police bail.

Police are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the events at RAF Fairford. Updates will be added as more information becomes available.
