Pop star Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against two anonymous hackers who allegedly stole and leaked her unreleased music and studio footage.
The singer’s lawyers say the alleged attackers targeted collaborators’ computers and sold the ripped material on the dark web for “significant sums.” According to court documents, “45 unreleased songs belonging to Ms Grande were hacked, stolen and leaked in 2023 alone.”
Grande’s legal action is aimed at uncovering the hackers’ identities and securing damages for the violation of privacy, California computer‑hacking statutes and conversion of her property. She highlighted the “malicious invasion of her privacy” as causing “substantial and irreparable harm.”
The suit comes amid a flurry of leaks over the past decade. The case also notes a 2025 incident when a producer’s mobile device was hacked to access unreleased masters, and a 2024 phishing attempt that persuaded a tech team to send photos to a fake photographer’s account.
While the lawsuit is filed, Grande is heading into a world tour and the release of her new album, Petal, scheduled for this Friday. She has called this tour a potential “last hurrah” for now, underscoring the personal stakes behind the legal battle.
