On Sunday, in a heartbreaking update, Jet Rescue Air Ambulance confirmed the identities of the fatalities from the small plane crash that claimed six lives, including a mother and her daughter. In addition, one individual on the ground also lost their life, with Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker reporting that the estimated number of injuries has risen to 22. Of those injured, five individuals remain hospitalized, and three are reported in critical condition.
The victims, all Mexican nationals, were on a medical transport mission. The victims identified included captain Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales, co-pilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, and physician Raul Meza Arredondo, among a few others. The young girl was reportedly en route to receive essential medical care.
Investigative efforts are currently underway, but officials have noted that the aircraft's black box, which could shed light on the crash's circumstances, remains unlocated. The community is left in mourning as additional details about this tragic incident unfold.
