As the funeral procession took place in Diu, Ramesh, visibly injured with bandages on his arms and face from the incident, served as a pallbearer for his brother's coffin. His mother, adorned in a blue sari, walked alongside other mourners who gathered despite continuous rain to pay their respects, reflecting the close-knit community affected by the crash, which claimed 14 local lives.

Eyewitness accounts reveal Ramesh's desperate efforts to return to the burning wreckage to rescue his brother. A newly released video captures Ramesh emerging from the flames, assisted by ambulance driver Satinder Singh Sandhu, who was unaware at the time he was aiding the sole survivor. After the incident, Sandhu described the shocking moment of realizing the identity of the man he had helped, noting Ramesh's frantic attempts to go back inside the wreckage for his brother.

Seated in 11A on the flight, Ramesh's miraculous survival came after he managed to escape through an opening in the fuselage, while all other passengers and crew members onboard were tragically killed.
