Dominique Pelicot's Crimes May Extend Beyond His Wife, Authorities Reveal

Gisèle Pelicot's distressing ordeal leads police to believe the accused may have targeted more victims in the past.

Recent investigations into Dominique Pelicot, sentenced to 20 years for drugging and assaulting his wife, reveal potential links to earlier assaults, raising concerns about other victims.

In December 2024, Dominique Pelicot, known for the heinous act of drugging his wife, Gisèle, and orchestrating assaults on her from various men, was handed a 20-year prison sentence. This shocking case has transformed Pelicot into one of France's most notorious predators, while his wife has emerged as a symbol of feminism in the face of abuse. However, following this trial, police are uncovering worrying evidence that suggests Gisèle may not be his only victim.

Antoine Camus, one of Gisèle’s lawyers, noted, “Gisèle Pelicot fears that she herself is only the tip of the iceberg.” The police, while investigating Pelicot, have come across DNA evidence linking him to an attempted rape case dating back to 1999 involving a 19-year-old woman. When questioned, Pelicot confessed, saying "It is me," indicating a troubling pattern in his behavior.

Additionally, he is being scrutinized for the 1991 rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman. Although Pelicot denies these allegations, prosecutors have pursued charges for both the murder and the attempted rape, combining them into a singular case due to their similarities.

Both assaults bear chilling resemblance: both victims were young real estate agents, violently attacked with a knife, restrained, and drugged. Disturbingly, the crime scenes showed a pattern, with the victims' shoes being systematically arranged in the rooms. This raises alarming questions about Pelicot's history and the possibility of more undiscovered victims hiding in plain sight.
