Yung Filly Faces Reckless Driving Charge While on Bail for Rape Allegations
The YouTube star, real name Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was caught speeding at nearly double the limit in Perth.
YouTube influencer Yung Filly, known off-screen as Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is making headlines once again as he faces serious legal challenges. Reports from Australia reveal that the 29-year-old is charged with reckless driving after being caught speeding at 158 km/h (98 mph) in a 100km/h zone on a Perth highway last month. This incident allegedly occurred while he was already on bail concerning accusations of raping a woman.
The alleged reckless driving took place on 17 November in High Wycombe, a suburb of Perth, where police were quick to impound Barrientos's vehicle. He is scheduled to make an appearance in court on 19 November, where he will contend with charges of reckless driving. In addition to that, he faces multiple grave allegations, including four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and a single charge of impeding a person's normal breathing by applying pressure to the neck.
The rape allegations stem from an incident where the rapper is accused of inviting a woman in her 20s to his hotel room after performing at the nightclub Bar1 while on his Australian music tour. Barrientos, who has had a successful career with the Beta Squad YouTube collective and has presented various shows on BBC Three, also gained fame through appearances on ITV's Soccer Aid and Channel 4's Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer. His achievements include winning a Mobo Award in 2021 for best media personality.
The ongoing legal issues have overshadowed his rising popularity, prompting the cancellation of scheduled live shows amid the serious allegations against him.
