Robbery Gang Found Guilty in Kim Kardashian's Paris Heist

In a trial that captured widespread attention, a Paris court has found eight individuals guilty in connection with the high-profile heist involving US reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The group was involved in the armed robbery of millions in jewellery, including a $10 million diamond engagement ring, during Paris Fashion Week in October 2016. Four members of the robbery crew received sentences of up to eight years, though most were suspended, leaving them with no time left to serve behind bars due to time already spent in custody. Kardashian herself described the robbery as one of the most terrifying experiences of her life.

Kardashian took the stand last week for five hours, reflecting on the traumatic impact of the robbery on her and her family. The suspects—nine men and one woman—were accused of either carrying out or aiding the armed heist, with the court showcasing DNA evidence linking them to the scene. Key figures, Aomar Ait Khedache and Yunice Abbas, both in their 60s and 70s, confessed to their roles in the robbery, which prosecutors characterized as meticulously planned rather than trivial due to the age of the defendants.

Judge David De Pas expressed his concerns over the health of the convicted individuals, stating that imprisonment would be ethically unjust given their conditions. Nonetheless, he reiterated the significance of the crime. Throughout the proceedings, Kardashian underscored her desire to move forward while remaining committed to advocating for victims of crime.
