Hongkongers Squawk Off in City's First Bird Call Contest
The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society hosted its first-ever bird call contest on Saturday, with the aim to promote conservation awareness. The event saw bird enthusiasts dress up and take to the stage to mimic rhythmic calls of the Koel, Asian barred owlet, Chestnut-winged cockatoo, and more.
The highlight of the contest was Bob Chan, who won the top prize for his impressive impersonation of a Eurasian tree sparrow. The contest not only showcased the participants' creativity but also aimed to raise awareness about the importance of bird conservation amid the recorded over 580 types of bird species in Hong Kong.
