A tragic attack highlights increasing violence in the region
In a devastating incident that took place on the outskirts of Manbij, a city situated east of Aleppo, a car bomb targeted a vehicle filled with agricultural laborers. The explosion resulted in the death of 15 individuals, among whom 14 were women, according to reports from the Syria Civil Defence, commonly referred to as the White Helmets. In addition to the fatalities, at least 15 other women sustained serious injuries, with some reported to be in critical condition, prompting fears that the number of casualties could rise further.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which marks the second car bomb incident in the Manbij region within a mere three days. Earlier, a separate explosion in the city center killed four people, including two children and another woman. The recent spike in violence underscores the ongoing instability and peril that persist in Syria amid the prolonged civil unrest.
