American streamer Kai Cenat regains his title for most subscribers on Twitch with celebrity guests' help.
Kai Cenat, a 22-year-old American streamer, has made history by reclaiming the record for the most Twitch subscribers gained during a single stream. After streaming continuously for 30 days, with appearances from notable celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Serena Williams, and Bill Nye, he amassed an astonishing 727,694 subscribers—a figure that is still pending confirmation from Twitch. This number significantly exceeds the previous record of 326,252 set by IronMouse last October, and it also surpasses Kai’s own record from earlier this year.
Snoop Dogg made a memorable appearance by contacting Kai on the second day of the marathon to discuss his upcoming album. By the fourth day, the rapper gifted viewers an exclusive tour of his luxurious Los Angeles home, showcasing his recording booth, basketball court, arcade room, and even a casino.
Shortly after, tennis icon Serena Williams participated in a video call during which she revealed amusing insights about her favorite fast food and shared the fact that her sister Venus is a better tennis coach due to her patience and teaching skills. Meanwhile, Bill Nye, renowned for his educational science shows, came over to conduct fun experiments, such as demonstrating how an ice cube melts faster on a metal surface compared to plastic.
This record-setting stream, dubbed "Mafiathon 2" in honor of his subscribers, known as the “Kai Mafia,” aimed to build support for Kai’s content while enabling viewers to subscribe and contribute financially. With subscription prices starting at £4.99 in the UK, Kai has already attracted over 15 million subscribers and pledged to donate 20% of the earnings from this event towards a school being established in Nigeria.
The unique nature of these subathons calls for minimal interruptions, with guests filling in for the streamer during his rest periods. However, the marathon faced interruptions, including a brief halt due to a false emergency report resulting in police being dispatched to his residence. Despite these challenges, Kai Cenat's monumental achievement continues to capture the attention of Twitch audiences worldwide.
