Tragedy Strikes: Fire Engulfs Nightclub in North Macedonia, Dozens Feared Dead

A devastating fire in North Macedonia's Pulse club has left many casualties and injuries, igniting national mourning.

Reports indicate that nearly 50 individuals may have lost their lives in a catastrophic nightclub fire in Kocani, leaving authorities scrambling to verify claims and assess the situation.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a fire erupted at the Pulse nightclub in Kocani, a town located approximately 100 km (60 miles) from Skopje, resulting in a tragic scene that has shocked the nation. Local media reports suggest that around 50 people are feared dead, with numerous others injured, although officials have yet to confirm these figures.

Footage shared on social media depicts the venue engulfed in flames, casting an ominous glow against the night sky as plumes of smoke spiraled upward. The fire reportedly ignited around 03:00 local time (02:00 GMT) during a live performance by the popular hip-hop duo ADN, drawing a crowd of as many as 1,500 concert-goers.

As the hours passed, the venue remained ablaze, causing panic and chaos among attendees. Eyewitness accounts hint that the blaze may have been triggered by the use of pyrotechnic devices on stage, with alarming visuals showing sparks from the performance catching onto the club's ceiling, leading to a rapid fire spread.

As investigations proceed and the toll of this disaster becomes clearer, the nation stands united in grief for the lives lost and those affected by this tragic incident.
