The Tanzanian‑flagged merchant ship AS DREAM sank approximately 90 nautical miles west of Cyprus on November 1, 2014, during a voyage, as reported by the Cyprus Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC). The JRCC confirmed that the vessel was sinking within the Search and Rescue Region of the Republic of Cyprus.

All ten crew members were rescued by the MSC Hannah III, a Cypriot rescue vessel, before being transferred to the Rescue Boat Pentadaktylos operated by the Port and Marine Police. The rescued crew were subsequently taken to Limassol Port for safety and further assistance.

According to the JRCC statement, the rescue operation was completed “with the efficiency of the region’s maritime emergency services” and highlighted the responsiveness of the Cyprus maritime authorities.
